This Morning

Frosted grass underfoot made that noise I love so much this morning. The crisp crunching of ice on leaves. I took my camera along with last nights scraps of tea, snippets for chickens.....and cockerels.

Bluest clear skies, tiny glitter sparkles, fairy diamonds in the sunlight.

  1. Karen, I've just discovered your beautiful site ! I linked from the House of Edward.

Ah, the frost ! I love it, too. The photo of the poultry takes me back to a very cold December day in Edinburgh way back in the day (well, about 1993) when I went to the Gorgie City Farm and saw hens trying to break (with their beaks) the ice that had formed over their water-bowls.

  2. what lovely pictures...I love the crunching sound of frost underfoot too...although it sounded very scary this morning at 7am when I was leaving for work on the ice rink which used to be my little street

  7. Lovely photographs, it has been rather grim and grey here, melting snow on ice has made it hard to walk. Nothing very sparkly at all except your advent calendar.
Nice little Jack in a box for today!

  8. I love that crispy crunchy sound too.... possibly it would be similar to walking across a giant bowl of cornflakes... before they go soggy (so about 20 seconds to get across before you sink)!
    Wonderful post!!! Ren x

  10. Really gorgeous atmospheric photos, I especially love the one with the ivy on the drain pipe and also the very handsome cockeral, he looks rather like the marans I used to have.

  11. Frosty and cold here too Karen. I do love it. And it's made me realise how mild the last two or three winters have been here. I think we're in for a cold one!

    Gorgeous photos!
