By Frost and Candlelight

The dark nights are upon us. A time of lighting fires, candles and curling up with a book to escape into other worlds.  A time for woolly tights, (I have a favourite spotty pair) soft jumpers, boots, cosy scarves. Time to get my little wooden cups out for warm spiced drinks. It's also the time of planning. Christmas, new year, what seeds to plant in next years garden and to dream up new adventures.
I thought I'd better pop in and share my winter cards before they all disappear. Available to buy now in the shop. There are still some some available.
I've edged these two below with golden glitter. Not real glitter though, only printed (I'm trying my hardest to keep away from micro plastics and even the tiny stars in my pictures get carefully put away and reused in photographs)
There are also lots of notebooks. Shown below,  is one I'm particularly fond of.  Using the painting I created after my magical Finland trip back in 2016.
Do pop across to the shop and take a look. I have ordered more calendars as two lots have sold out now. The last bunch should be arriving later today and then that will be it.
It's been a sad time here in the Moonlight and Hares household. We recently had to say goodbye to our dear little Willow, who became poorly quite suddenly.
It won't be the same without her. She was a sweet girl and we were blessed to share 11 and a half years with her. We buried her beneath the apple trees that she used to love climbing so much.
Until our souls meet again one day, we treasure the happy memories.
As the days go ticking by too quickly, outside the holly has fruited in abundance.
It does this every year and we are so lucky. By the end of November though, all of the berries have been eaten by the birds and it's bare again.
I do pick a few sprigs beforehand though and keep them in the greenhouse in a bucket of water. Today it was time to begin bringing a little inside, along with a some other garden seasonal foliage.
I thought the reindeer needed cheering up too, so gave him a sprig.
And finally I can share another winter painting that's now finished. It's been on the desk for a long time as you can see from the photo, with the sun shining and roses still being picked.
It's been such a busy Autumn for orders and I honestly thought I would never get it done at one point.  But here it is...

Prints are available in the shop and I will be getting some cards in next week for the last minute shoppers among us.

The Spider Month Of September And A Shop Update

I like to think of September as spider month because of the sheer amount that seem to be visible at this time of year. Not only are they in the house, (it's okay I'm not scared of them ;-)) outside the windows  are covered in spiders too. They love to make their webs on the panes of glass. A dark trick for the poor unsuspecting fly that thinks he will just head on into the house, but then realises there is glass between itself and the room and a deadly trap made of spun silk.  Meanwhile the sweet blue tit knows that the spiders and flies are  up to things on the window, so it's the month when I hear a tap tapping and look up to see them peeping in at me during their autumn feast.
I was happy to have captured the above picture, even if it is a little blurry as they move so fast, too speedy for my camera.
September is the month when in the morning the hedgerows, fields and  gardens are decorated with dew dropped webs. And the early morning Autumn light just makes them look as if one had stepped into another realm. Such beauty.
The garden is still filled with flowers.
And butterflies. Every time the sun comes out, our big patch of ivy is a nectar magnet for them.
It's been a busy month behind the scenes. New Autumn cards have been designed and added to the shop. You may remember these images from my wooden hangers last year? I thought they would make cute cards in the style of a nature journal type page again. I'm selling them in a pack of 3 in the shop.
I've also been busy organising a 2018 calendar which is now available.
The hangers have all been finally finished. Below are most of them. There are 16 in all but some are similar, so I won't share every single one here.

                                                                             ~ *~
The shop update will be next Monday 2nd October at 7.30pm (uk time) First come first served.

There will also be some new sets of cards in the shop. I know Christmas is still ages away (thank goodness) but because a lot of my work sells abroad I have to get the cards and things in the shop early.  Sooo... if you are not keen on looking at Winter things yet, please avert your eyes. ;)
With October just around the corner now, it's time to get back to the sketchbook and some new paintings. My little studio has been tidied and changed about in preparation.
Happy Autumn

Old Cards For Sale

The other day I tried to get into my wardrobe. No, I wasn't trying to get to Narnia, just trying to access my clothes. It's not really a wardrobe, more a cupboard and is very awkward to get into at the best of times as you have to bend your head awkwardly. It would be perfect for a hobbit in fact....  Anyway I noticed that the cupboard has managed to become filled with clutter, you know the way things do! But not only my clutter, it seems I have accumulated everyone else's too. Hmm?  I started to sort some things out and found a bag filled with old cards. These cards are greeting cards that I did for a publishing company years back. I can't sell them on Etsy because they were produced for a company, so I wondered if anyone would be interested in buying any? It seems a waste just to let them sit in a cupboard?
If you are interested send me an email or message me your email address and let me know which ones you want and I will invoice you via Paypal. I'm afraid I can only accept Paypal payment.

Price  £5.00 for a pack of six mixed cards  P&P £2  (P&P for any extra add 50p  per pack) UK postage. For anywhere else I would add on extra.

Pack 1
A closer look... All designs were painted between 1996 and 2003. In fact, if I waited a bit longer I suppose I could sell them as vintage on Etsy. :-)
White fairy angel hares with wings, and hare and friends festivities. The white hare has been on my journey with me for quite a while.
These are all 7x5 in size.
                                              SOLD OUT

                                                      ~*~

Pack 2
Angel designs.                         SOLD OUT.
Size 4x7.5
The cards are mainly blank inside, but a few of the Angel one's have 'Seasons Greetings' written inside. The design wraps right around and continues on the backs of each card.
There are a limited amount, so I will sell them on a first come first served basis.
                         ~*~
I'm  trying to fit in as many wooden bits and pieces before Christmas as I can. These pendants were finished last night, and they will be listed in my Etsy shop later today.

Have a great weekend folks.  I'm off to bake a cake now for Husbands birthday today.
