Its time for a little celebration!...............
First to welcome Summer. She has been just waiting behind the door and the door is almost fully open now. Look, I can see her embroidered flowery gown and smell her scent of honeysuckle and roses..
Summers flowers are everywhere you turn at the moment. We have lots of beautiful borage that bees love...
Blue Aquilega's or as I call them.... Granny bonnets!.......
This rich red scabious in tight bud will soon be visited by a variety of insects, I hope.
The second thing to celebrate is the hatching of our hens eggs. Three so far, but there are more to come! The biggest was born 9 days ago now and the smallest 2 days ago. The other one in between. They are such sweeties and already have their own personalities!
The third thing I want to celebrate is the recent reaching of a 100 followers! Its wonderful to know that people are interested and following. Well, I see that now its reached 105 so that definitely calls for a giveaway to show my appreciation ;)
So, leave me a comment, just a hello if you like and I'll put your name in the hat for a goody bag prize. I'm not sure what it will be yet, some things with my art work on though. Also, I have two owl pellets left. If anyone is interested in dissecting these (UK only for owl pellets) let me know and I'll put your name in a hat for these too. I'll draw the name/names next Friday.
Have a lovely sunny weekend! x

Oh I do love goodie bags ;)
ReplyDeleteyour spring photos are just beautiful, are these all near your home? What a magical place!
I'm definitely not interested in the owl pellets, but we did dissect them in my 7th grade science class. I put a mouse skeleton together with the bones from the pellet...gross, but I got an A :)
ReplyDeleteooooooh, how sweet, a giveaway - thank you for the opportunity! I'm writing to you from a tiny island in America, so I cannot even dream of receiving an owl pellet...but owls are my totem and I love how you depict them so delightfully...

I love the little chicks! And I would love to dissect an owl pellet, but I guess I'll have to find some here in the US. I would love to win a goody bag of your beautiful art!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your adoring following. I'm awaiting our borage coming to bloom (I use the flowers in everything from salad to soup garnish to drying them for tea). My columbine (magenta and pink) has just begun to bloom.
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats on the baby chicks! That is most exciting! How big will your flock be?
Love the photos the chicks are so cute. I'd be interested in owl pellets, which isn't a sentence you can say everyday!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely flower photos and your chicks are so appealing. It's good to have summer back with us again.
ReplyDeleteBorage! that is one of those flowers I know, but can never remember the name of when I see it, apart from it being a 'bee' flower.

ReplyDeleteI have never seen grandmas bnets in blue...we have very very dark damson double headed ones...fancy a seed swap...your rose is lovely I have just killed mine and I feel terrible..I moved it because for the lst three years it hasnt done anything...now its all droopy and miserable ....any advice?
ReplyDeleteCat(darklingwoods)
ReplyDeleteYes, the photos are all in the garden.
Cocoa and blankets...
We have those dark beautiful damson coloured ones too. The blue ones are more a blue/pale violet colour. I will try and save some seeds, but I'm not sure if the colours come true from seed, maybe only a cutting? Its worth a try tho.
The rose is a small variety that was here already and seems to pop up everywhere. I can give you a runner in the Autumn if you like? Please remind me tho :)
Yay for summer.
ReplyDeleteYay for chicks.
