A grey and dusty day

I always find it strange how one day I manage to fit a mountains worth of work into a few hours, then wake up the very next morning, just a few hours after the 'productive explosion' and the day just slips like silk through fingers and I seem to drift along and flit from this to that , as if I were a butterfly.
Today seems to be the latter.
Its grey and quiet today. A fine soft drizzle is falling and the temperature has risen enough to stir some of the harlequins from their winter sleep.

Only a few remain now, as most have already moved on.

Time is ticking by and we are only a few days away from March. Well, to me March means Spring! The March hares have all been cut out and are waiting patiently to be painted. And of course, I suppose I must do some Spring cleaning!?

The house is in desperate need of a clean. As you may have noticed from the photographs, it is all very dusty!

What I need is a little fairy angel to help me! ;)

  1. Lovely images softening the words. I do wish that the 'melon collies' lift for you... On my blogs I've placed a YouTube clip which I can't put here for you, so you could go to YouTube and search 'Jon Lord' and find the song 'The Sun Will Shine Again' sung by Frida. It was written for her (and people with collies gone melon).

Before I know it the day will be over, but I must keep positive. By the way I love your blogging site, Im quite new to this infectious and addictive online diary. Infact this is the first comment I've left and I hope its ok.Lol

  5. Lovely post. I particularly like that evocative photo of the watch face or clock in the box. Do you know, I think that the days when we don't have the umpf to do anything are the days when it's best to just rest and watch and listen, because maybe we just need some time out. I'm looking forward to seeing those March hares!

  8. I do seem to "flit" about more on a grey day. Sunlight seems to spur me on to my designated duties. Or, maybe it just makes me feel guilty to be unproductive on a sunny day. Clouds make such an attractive excuse for laziness!!

  9. Beautiful post!! Your writing is as soft and lovely as your paintings!! I have been deep cleaning for several days now - am totally out of steam. I yearn for a good movie and hot cocoa!! I too am sooo very ready for Spring! Have a great day, sarah

  10. It is grey and dull here today too but brightened up by receiving a pretty parcel containing my lovely hare heart. I am delighted with it but am afraid I have slipped up putting the feedback in etsy. I accidently sent, before leaving a comment. I am sorry to be so dim but am just getting used to this touchpad. I have emailed etsy to try and rectify my mistake.

  11. It is a beautiful post and one I can relate to. It started out grey here and then to everyone's surpise it started snowing heavily and is still doing so. I will sit with warm tea by my fireplace and think of the snowdrops...and spring...coming soon perhaps!

    Fern...
Thats ok about the feedback. I know what you mean about the laptop touch being so sensitive. Its taken me a while to also get used to it.
I'm glad your heart arrived safely.

  16. I know exactly what you mean. I think its physics! Trying to keep you at the same status-quo pace (so if you do a lot one day, you can NOT do a lot the following day). It is maddening certainly.

  18. Hi Karen,

It was nice of you to stop by on my Valentine entry, would you like my owl card? I was giving it away on the day you left your comment and (sadly for some) you were the only one to leave a comment that day.

  19. Not sure how I found my way to your blog - through some enchanted forest maybe, or up a narrow twisting stair....but am so glad I did. Your images are just so beautiful - whether painted or photographed. Very very inspiring to this poor creativity-starved soul. Thank you.
