Playing with blue ink

I've been in the garden alot recently, (blame the good weather! ;-) so not much art work to show. I found this set of beautiful ink pens in a charity shop with a bottle of the most bluest of blue ink. Just right for a play in my sketchbook. The silver attachments keep reminding me of the hand that Voldermort gave to Wormtail in The Goblet of Fire....

The Lion I doodled has nothing to do with Harry Potter though....

All the names for the blog giveaway were put into a pot and the winner drawn out for the goody bag prize is.......... Andrea
And the lucky person who gets to dissect the two owl pellets is................Annette

Congratulations to you both! I will get items sent off to you both as soon as I can, sometime this week.

  1. What a rare find! They are the most beautiful pen nibs I've ever seen. But the hand and the 5-pronged one are indeed a little strange!

  2. thanks for pulling my name out for the owl pellets!!
I know how exciting it can be to dissect one, however it's been a few years since I last did it so I may need glasses!!
and the winner, I know for sure, will be delighted with your work Karen.

  6. I've found my sewing has suffered with the good weather, but I think it does you so much good to get out in the sun and spend time outside. I'm decided that my folksy shop will run on skeleton stock until the nights start to draw in, then I istinctively seem to turn to drafts to get me through the winter.

  10. The most beautiful pens! What a lucky find that was, and how inspiring. I absolutely love to get new art materials and these beauties would have me itching to draw something too! Your lion is gorgeous, you've produced a lovely painting with the blue ink. I don't think I've seen a 'watercolour' from you for a long time. This is a rare treat :)

  11. Wow! Fancy finding that in a charity shop- excellent! It's certainly found a good home, and your lion is wonderful. I enjoyed your previous post about your dream. After following your links to the Hare Society, I'd like to think the rabbits in the dream I blogged about recently were hares. You have a wonderful blog here, and your artwork is beautiful.
