A Little Shop,Fossils And Sir David

Not so long ago, I think I mentioned in a tale, a special shop. Quite secret, treasure filled, the kind of shop you read about in story books or sometimes if you are lucky, see in films. This shop lives in a quiet little town where the seaweed trails across ancient fossils trapped in time...
I would like to share with you 'The Mermaid shop'....

The Mermaid shop lives in The pretty town of Lyme Regis in Dorset. Last weekend when the sun scorced the dry earth and my fairy roses burst into bloom, this is where I was.The Mermaid shop is home to artist LinzieWest. This time I went, I asked if I could take some photo's.
How lucky she is to have such an inspiring work space and magical surrounding to show off her work.

The shop is attached to her studio.

If you are in Lyme Regis or nearby, it's a  must to visit!

Of course I didn't just gaze at the Mermaid shop all weekend... I soaked in and absorbed other things that inspired me, as well as sand and sun cream. Fairytale cottages that could live in magic forests in one of my paintings...

I can imagine standing here of a morning and looking out to sea....

The evenings were still and so peaceful.
And we lost ourselves again in the fossil shelf, which is amazing....

A lovely weekend, with perfect seaside weather and we even got to see Sir David Attenborough   who  was
filming on the beach whilst we fossil foraged.

This weekend will be quiet and spent at home in the garden.
xx

  16. I agree with Jessie there, what a wonderful post! I'm not sure which was the best bit; that enchanting little shop, the cottage, the fossils, or the fact you got to see David Attenborough! An utterly and all round charming read. Thanks!

  21. ! Wow! And David Attenborough.. double wow <3 Lyme Regis makes me think of Fowles' 'The French Lieutenant's woman' which is set in this town. The protagonist Charles would collect fossils there. :)
